Data Collection
The purpose of the data collection is described under IBF Fungi.
Data Project and Service
The data project "IBF Monitoring of Fungi" was established by Prof. Dr. Andreas Bresinsky and Josef Simmel. Data gathering with DiversityMobile and data curation in Diversity Workbench is done by Josef Simmel and Dr. Konstanze Bensch. The project is part of the DFG funded IBF project with the aim to gain observational records of fungi in the field using the smartphone application DiversityMobile. The data are processed by Diversity Workbench components and made accessible via national and international portals. They mainly include single observational records and are supplemented with several ecological data. The taxonomy and nomenclature follows the List of Fungal Names hosted by the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Mykologie DGfM. With completion of the research project, data will be technically managed by the long-term data repository at the SNSB IT Center of the Staatliche Naturwissenschaftliche Sammlungen Bayerns.
