At present the database "Floristische Kartierung Österreichs - Mapping the Flora of Austria" contains about 1.950.000 Austrian records, each corresponding to one floristic observation, complemented by about 130.000 records from neighbouring territories. The observation records are based on a grid system of quadrants owing an extent of 5' longitude / 3' latitude (approx. 6.3 / 5.5 km). About 90% of the data present are based upon original field observations, and will finally result in the production of a printed and electronic version of the "Distribution Atlas of the Flora of Austria".

The observation records are based on GPS data a grid system of quadrants owing an extent of 5' longitude / 3' latitude (approx. 6.3 / 5.5 km). About 90% of the data present are based upon original field observations, and will finally result in the production of a printed and electronic version of the "Distribution Atlas of the Flora of Austria".

Data Project and Service

The data project "IBF Monitoring of Fungi" was established by Prof. Dr. Andreas Bresinsky and Josef Simmel. It is part of the DFG funded IBF project with the aim to make accessible observations of fungi in the field gained by using DivversityMobile and managed by Diversity Workbench components. For a detailed description of the research project see under http://www.diversitymobile.net/wiki/IBF_Fungi.It contains single observation records with some ecological factros added. The taxonomy and nomenclature follows the DGfM List of Fungal Names.
