The current lichen diversity in three natural areas belonging to three different natural territories around Regensburg will be monitored during 40 surveys in two years. Detailed information on the occurring plant and cryptogamic species are available for this habitats due to long-time floristic investigations. The actually gathered data should indicate changes in species diversity in these habitats, and provide informations about exact localisations of the observed specimen. Major scientific goal of these investigations is to generate ecological profiles for the observed species based on the vegetation units and substrate types on which they occur. The lichen monitoring is conducted partially in parallel with the monitoring of fungi (IBF Fungi) in the same natural areas.
