Bayern Flora

The initiative called Bayern FLora or "Flora of Bavaria" exists since more than 100 years. It is devoted to the study of the vascular plant life in Bavaria. The goal is to document all vascular plant life including all naturally occurring or indigenous plants, new emerging plants, like invasive plants or over the years extinct plants. The floristic initiative has the challenge to record all the changes over space and time and is working together with initiatives on a more regional level. Since 2011 the consortium Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Flora von Bayern is supporting the efforts to publish a work "Flora" which will describe all plant species recently documented for Bavaria, with the aim of allowing identification. The Bayern Flora initiative is currently supported by two infrastructure projects working closely together:

• BFL Data Management and Workflow Services, DWB and FIN

and

• BFL Communication Platform Wiki.
