The 3-year project "BFL – Data flow DWB and FIN" is initiated in 2013. Its goal is to set up a sustainable technical and curatorial infrastructure for data mobilisation, management and archiving of floristic data of Bavaria. "BFL – Data flow DWB and FIN" make the occurrence and distribution data from the past and from now available for the future. For these purposes the project develops work flows from the creating of data by volunteer experts in the field up to the SNSB IT Center and the Botanische Staatssammlung München. Thus, professional scientific and technical curation is ensured. The [http://diversityworkbench.net Diversity Workbench] is installed as virtual working environment and database management system to quality-control and process the BFL data on a long run. Curatorial assistance by volunteer experts is welcome and will be organised. Description

In October 2013 a 3-year project "BFL – Data flow DWB and FIN" started. The goal is to set up a long term bioinformatic and curatorial infrastructure for data mobilisation, management and archiving of floristic data of Bavaria.

One of the achievments of the "BFL – Data flow DWB and FIN" project will be the archiving and publication of presence and distribution data of plant species collected from the end of the 18th century onwards for future generations.

Therefore, the project develops unique work flows starting with data collection by volunteer experts in the field to data management at the SNSB IT Center and the Botanische Staatssammlung München. Thus, professional scientific and technical assistance is ensured. Thus, professional scientific and technical assitance is ensured. The Diversity Workbench is installed as a virtual working environment and database management system to quality-control and process the Bayernflora data on a long run. Curatorial assistance by volunteer experts is highly welcomed and will be supported in workshops and meetings. The data workflow includes the transfer of data into FIN Web. All work is performed in close cooperation between the project partners and stakeholders involved.
