The 3-year project "BFL  – Data flow DWB and FIN" is initiated in 2013. Its goal is to set up a sustainable technical and curatorial infrastructure for data mobilisation, management and archiving of floristic data of Bavaria. The workflow services will ensure the availability of the occurrence data from the past and now for the future. For these purposes the project will develop an integrated data flow from the creating of data by volunteer experts in the field up to the data center at the SNSB and the Botanische Staatssammlung München. Thus the scientific and technical curation is ensured. The database management system [http://diversityworkbench.net Diversity Workbench] is installed as virtual environment to quality-control and process the BFL data on a long run. Curatorial assistance by volunteers is welcome and will be organised. The workflow also includes the providing of data to the BIB Portal (BFL Wiki) and [http://gisportal-umwelt2.bayern.de/finweb/risgen?template=StdTemplate&preframe=1&wndw=800&wndh=600&askbio=on FIN Web]. All work is done in strong cooperation between the project partners and stakeholders involved. DWB Training workshops are organised.

Description

The 3-year project "BFL – Data flow DWB and FIN" is initiated in 2013. Its goal is to set up a sustainable technical and curatorial infrastructure for data mobilisation, management and archiving of floristic data of Bavaria. The workflow services will ensure the availability of the occurrence data from the past and now for the future. For these purposes the project will develop an integrated data flow from the creating of data by volunteer experts in the field up to the SNSB IT Center and the Botanische Staatssammlung München. Thus the scientific and technical curation as well are given. The database management system Diversity Workbench is installed as virtual environment to quality-control and process the BFL data on a long run. Curatorial assistance by volunteers is welcome and will be organised. The workflow includes the providing of data to FIN Web. All work is done in strong cooperation between the project partners and stakeholders involved. DWB Training workshops are organised.
