Description

The 3-year project "BFL – Communication Platform" is initiated in 2013. Its goal is to set up an interactive communication platform for volunteer experts in floristics and citizen scientists interested in the flora of Bavaria. The platform is based on wiki technology and is technically managed as part of the biowikifarm. The BFL Wiki offers functionalities in addition to those of the current portal Botanischer Informationsknoten Bayern (BIB). A BFL repository for multimedia data and a BFL forum for discussion are establised. Identification tools are included as well as a center for up- and download of documents. The moderation of the cooperative elements, e. g. of a calendar, is done by project co-workers and volunteer experts in cooperation. Diversity Workbench Workshops are organised to train volunteer curators. An user help desk supports BFL interested persons to contribute to the development of the content of the wiki communication platform.
