Directional microphone

For IBF Orthoptera a directional microphone is necessary to gather sounds of grasshoppers and store them in the internal storage unit of the smartphone. Currently (in 2012), there are no head set adapters available for HTC 7 smartphones which would be appropriate to connect directional microphones.

Thus, we thank Stephan Meßlinger, University of Bayreuth, LS Experimentalphysik V who found a technical solution and modified commercial adapters to overcome this obstacle.
