Directional microphone
For IBF Orthoptera a directional microphone is necessary to gather sounds of grasshoppers and store them in the internal storage unit of the smartphone. Currently (in 2012), there are no head set adapters available for HTC 7 smartphones which would be appropriate to connect directional microphones. Thus, we thank Stephan Meßlinger (http://www.staff.uni-bayreuth.de/~btp918/)who found a solution and modified available adapters to overcome this obstacle.

hat einen Headsetadapter für HTC 7-Geräte so angepasst, dass ein beliebiges Mikrophon mit Klinkenstecker als Input fungieren kann.
Dazu waren Lötvorgänge innerhalb des Adapters nötig, da offizielle HTC-Adapter mit einem eigenen Mikrophon ausgestattet sind, das standardmäßig nicht deaktiviert werden kann.
Die Lötvorgänge dienen zur Umgehung des internen Mikrophons und dem Anschluß des Signals des Klinkenstecker an den Audioeingan des Adapters.
