About the "IBF Monitoring of Lichens" as Dataset provided via BioCASe Provider Software for GBIF and other portals

Data Collection

The purpose of the data collection is described under IBF Lichens.

Data Project and Service

The data project "IBF Monitoring of Lichens" was established by Wolfgang von Brackel. It is part of the DFG funded IBF project with the aim to gain observational records of lichens and lichenicolous fungi in the field using the smartphone application DiversityMobile. The data are processed by Diversity Workbench components and made accessible via national and international portals. They mainly include single observational records and are supplemented with several ecological data. The taxonomy and nomenclature follows LIAS names as Global Species Database of Lichens edited by the Botanische Staatssammlung München. With completion of the research project, data will be technically managed by the long-term data repository at the SNSB IT Center of the Staatliche Naturwissenschaftliche Sammlungen Bayerns. Notices of errors of any kind are much appreciated by the participants of the project (for email check Contact).
