About "IBF Monitoring of Fungi" as Dataset for GBIF
Data Collection
The purpose of the data collection is described under IBF Fungi.
Data Project and Service
The data project "IBF Monitoring of Fungi" was established by Prof. Dr. Andreas Bresinsky and Josef Simmel. It is part of the DFG funded IBF project with the aim to gain observational records of fungi in the field using the smartphone application DiversityMobile. The data are processed by Diversity Workbench components and made accessible via national and international portals. They mainly include single observational records and are supplemented with several ecological data. The taxonomy and nomenclature follows the List of Fungal Names hosted by the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Mykologie DGfM. With completion of the research project, data will be technically managed by the long-term data repository at the SNSB IT Center of the Staatliche Naturwissenschaftliche Sammlungen Bayerns. Notices of errors of any kind are much appreciated by the participants of the project (for email check Contact).
